Would be excellent to see this again (along with the stay at all 9 brands). Already got St. Regis down for this year (although it might be one of our only Starwoods, Beijing sure was nice!!!)

Oh wow - think I missed it! Is it too late to redeem?

Any updates - has anyone gotten their requalification gift yet? I requalifed for Platinum three weeks ago but nothing so far. Have a vacation coming up in a few weeks so was hoping to put 35% off to good use

As of now, there is no confirmation of a requalification gift for 2014. SPG may or may not have one for this year and onwards. It's really ad-hoc.

Thank you! I think it's been going on for 8 or 9 years, so we all just kind of assume it's going to happen again (unlike the gift for staying at all brands in a year which truly could be a one-time thing).

To be honest, given the magnitude of the 2013 gift compared to recent years, I would expect there to be some extra degree of financial review of the gift to see if what they plan to do for the 2014 version ("What can we offer as a token of gratitude for their loyalty? 35% off a points redemption, double points for a month, a $25 award, 1,000 points, or a magazine subscription? Hmm."). They kind of went the opposite end of the spectrum compared to the previous few years where the gifts did not even begin to resemble what they did prior to that. This type of review is simply good general business and accounting practices, especially for a publicly traded company. In my opinion, as loyal guests who invest our money and time with this company, we should expect nothing less (even if we are not direct investors in the company stock). Since the previous gift did not end completely until mid-February, I would expect to see more than a month or two of analysis and review. In all honesty, if they released a 2014 gift by now, which is late compared to the trend from previous years, I would have been very surprised.

Good analysis! The irrational part of me wants 50% off AND being able to use it on Cat. 7 properties Don't stay at high-priced properties enough for double points to be an interesting proposition. A killer deal with SPG is combining 5th Night Free and 25/35% off, IMHO.

I took advantage of this combined with the recent UA summer Business Class pricing of 1500 RT from TPA to CDG. I booked the Le Meridien for 5 nights for a net cost of 31,200 points in July. A great deal!

We, too, took advantage of the 35% off with 5th night free... except at the Le Meridien Piccadilly in London. The 5th night would have been a high season night (25,000), which was doubly great! We got the entire stay for 52,000 points, or a 49.5% discount from the nightly redemption rates. Not bad and a testament to the generosity of the program. ^
