Why do I still have "six years elite" ??
Last year it didn't increment to 7. I seem to remember a thread where folks said it would increment on your "anniversary" or something. Can't seem to find that thread now.
But all year -- even after I requalified for Platinum -- it never changed. Was 6 years in 2012 and in 2013.
And this year, no increment either. Still 6 years.
How does this thing work?

I know mine incremented last year, but now I can't really recall when.

It already increments when you reach gold. Not platinum (at least in my case and that actually makes sense because "elite" includes gold in Starwood terminology)

This has been discussed in a few threads and I believe it has been confirmed by numerous members that "Years Elite" increments when you pass the threshold for Gold each year. As it's not a counter for Platinum specifically, nothing happens when you pass the PLT threshold and nothing happens on either 1/1 or 2/28 of each year.
If it was 6 in 2012 and you stayed 50+ nights last year and it's still 6, you should contact Customer Service or PM one of the Lurkers with your info.
I will say that several other have made the same claim, only to find that they midremembered how many years they had two years prior, and missed that the counter incremented at Gold qualification, only checking and not seeing it around PLT time.
Let us know what you find.

Last two years this is when it happened for both my SO and me.
Your counter went up last year (or it should have)
