Points expiring in 4 days. How to extend?

I've searched this thread & the SPB site to no avail. I have 9,000 points expiring in 4 days & was wondering if the remaining points can be extended if some are used. No longer have SPB card. I called CSR who said you only extended balance by using card & adding more points. I was hoping it was like UAL & "any activity, debit or credit" would extended. Does anyone know? Also, can I make reservation for future (Thanksgiving?) w/points expiring in 4 days? CSR didn't know that answer either....Thank you!

What's SPB?

Any SPG hotels in your area for a quick 1 night stay?

There's several threads on the forum on this, best way to find them is with 'Advanced Search', 'Titles Only' for 'Expiring'.

Best thread seems to be this one.

The quickest thing is to buy 500 points. They should post right away.

Are these SVO-issued points? They would expire anyway.

Just order an award then cancel it
the pts then are valid for another year.
