The rooms at LRM are in need of a makeover IMO. Some I believe are renovated, but the suites we were in weren't. Great beach and pool areas for sure, beats GH by a mile (although you can take a bus between the 2).

Lounge goes to GH for sure, although LRM isn't bad.

GH is a city hotel, whereas LRM is a beach resort so there you go, not alot of similarities. Both are worthy or my spend however.

As a SPG Platinum, you'd be insane to stay anywhere within a 25 mile radius of GH IMO. That lounge has got to be by far the best one in the system with breakfast (though restaurant breakfast is a bit better), lunch, afternoon tea time and pre-dinner drinks. It's nearly a full board plan just for being plat and the best part is that even if you arrive at an early hour (not unusual for DXB), you can still access the lounge for breakfast on check in day which you would not normally be entitled to with a restaurant breakfast.

They were very accommodating of our early arrival, also, and the FD agent told me they try to do check in and out (+ cleanings) 24 hours/day as availability allows because of how active the airport is all day.
