Broken elevator...compensation?
Staying at a Starwood property, and our elevator has been broken since arrival (only one to our wing)...it's only a two flight climb, but I probably take it 4-5 times a day minimum, with little ones who complain. Don't really mind and can use the exercise, but when I have bags etc...it's a bit of a pain.
I could ask to move rooms, but I like our wing over the other rooms. Is this compensation worthy (and how much), or should I just write it off? Thanks. |

So there are other rooms, and you've decided that you would rather keep the room where the elevator is out than move? And you want to know if you're entitled to compensation because you've chosen not to take the alternative?

I say 500 points for every flight of stairs.
Just keep a record and present said record when you check out. Oh, and that's 500 points for every member in your party. |

Did you see a mosquito somewhere close to the elevator?
|
I was sure this was going to be about Parker Meridien.
Stayed there this past weekend Fri-Sun and of the 3 elevators for our wing, at LEAST one was broken throughout the duration of our stay, and at times 2/3 were broken. Friday night we leave our 35th floor room at 645 for our 730pm reservation in W Village--cutting it kinda close, but not that bad. 730 comes and goes and we are still waiting on the elevator. We walked around to the service elevators (visible through small window in hallway) and pushed that button too. Eventually, maybe 15 minutes later, the service elevator appeared. We got on that and on our ride down, it gradually filled to capacity with guests who clearly had the same idea. Each time up or down took nearly an hour all weekend. To the property's credit, when I called SPG Saturday night and told them we had a wedding bus to meet (taking us 1hr out of the city) and could not be late, the MOD did come up and escort us down. Doesn't make up for the roughly 4-5 hours we spent waiting on elevators, but it was a nice gesture. I was offered 7500 points by hotel management, which, IMO, is not enough. |

I had a little trouble getting the shower temp adjusted this morning. What's the points calculation for that?

 While you may have wished for more, many on these threads value a point at a minimum of $0.03 which multiplied times 1500 points yields a "minimum wage" of $45 per hour!
