Question: on Southwest, only flights booked AFTER having registered to the promotion are eligible for the bonus. Is it the same for SPG? I have booked a stay last week for mid-september, do I need to cancel & rebook that stay to make sure it is eligible for the Take2 bonus?

"...Registration will open later this month, but in the meantime you can book stays now, and those that fall during the promotion earning dates will be eligible."

Almost every one of my planned stays is at a nonparticipating property.

What's with all of the California (specifically Sacramento) hotels opting out of this promotion? Is there a specific reason? Looks like if I want to take advantage of this I'm stuck with Four Points Sacramento and their dial-up internet...ugh

Just registered and then found this thread.
+1 to the posters who noted the massive non-participation in Chicago & Boston. This is a great promotion if the goal is for loyal members to hunt out less convenient properties in those locations. Pretty disappointed.

+1 from me for the non-participating of large numbers of hotels..
..however...Starwood should at least compensate the loyal by making all stays (irrespective of participation) eligible for the bonus pts

Which means this promo is worse than the previous one as the App bonus was given regardless of participation.

Is there a way to find out by looking at your reservation whether your rate is eligible or not for this promo? I've got 8 nights booked in early September, but some of them are corporate rates and special promotional rates.
