SPG Points From Wedding
Hi everyone -
I am trying to help a friend book her honeymoon using her SPG points. Currently she has enough points to get 3 of the 8 nights she'll need in Kauai. She will be gaining a ton of points via her wedding as it is at the Westin.
Does anyone know if SPG would allow her to book some award nights with those points or would it be like any other earn and she would have to wait for them to post and likely miss out on using them?

You can also keep an eye on buying starpoints. Sometimes with 40% off, they are a steal.

Could you lend her some and she transfer them back later?

Another option would be to book it at a refundable rate, and hope that when the points become available there is still availability for points or cash+points. Then just cancel the refundable booking. Downside is you risk not being able to use the points if there is no availability.
