If budget is no constrain, I would prefer the Keraton which is a newer property and adjacent to the Grand Indonesia Mall, which is very a convenient central location. Could be quite bad traffic but this is Jakarta after all

Le Meridien isn't that bad. Old but still maintains its certain charm. Club lounge is nice and free wifi for everyone throughout the hotel.

Here are the pics of the Le Meridien room :

Thanks, I believe we'll opt for the Keraton!

Dates: 9/21-24
Room Booked: Pinnacle Deluxe
Room Received: Pinnacle 1BR Suite

Comments: Suite was wonderful; spacious and comfortable with a small pantry kitchen and 1.5 baths as well as three terraces with fabulous views. I had tried to use my SNAs (for Junior Suite upgrade) but was pre-upgraded to full suite so I canceled the SNAs in advance.

Hahaha, maybe they upgraded you to the full suite because they saw you applied the SNAs... they might be saying "darn it!" :P

LOL...It's not the first time this has happened to me this year. I'm chalking it up to my Ambassador but who knows? I was nervous about canceling the SNA request the first time I was pre-upgraded (at the Dip) but it worked fine. My only regret is that I still have 10 left to use this year but really who cares as long I get a suite.

Out of interest, how did the walk-in rate compare with the online rate? Or did you not check?

I did not check the online rate as I was not planning to look for the Sheraton. I do get different discount rates and the one I got was similar to the rate at the Holiday Inn on line rate.

Date(s): August 6-8, 2013
Room booked: Traditional, 2 Queens
Room received: Club Floor, 2 Queens
Award stay: No
BRG stay: No

Comments: Really only an upgrade by name only. Other than free bottled water, it means nothing at all.

Property: Sheraton Roanoke Hotel & Conference Center - Roanoke, Virginia
Date(s): September 3-4, 2013
Room booked: Traditional King
Room received: ”Accessible suite: King Bed, Non-smoking, 714 sq ft / 66 m˛.”
Award stay: No
BRG stay: No
SNA requested: No
Comments: Booked Traditional King and asked for a Suite at check-in and was initially told that they didn”t have any, but was then told that it was being cleaned and that I could try back around 4pm if I wanted to wait. I was in no hurry so I said that was fine. Received an ”Accessible suite: King Bed, Non-smoking, 714 sq ft / 66 m˛.”

Date(s): September, 2012
Room booked: Standard Double (with points)
Room received: Burnham Suite
Award stay: Yes
BRG stay: No
SNA requested: Yes
Comments: Huge 2 room corner suite overlooking both the river and lake. 2 bathrooms and 8 person dining table with living room area. Kitchen area but no fridge (had to call down to get one delivered). Was counted as 2 rooms when we checked in, and then got charged on checkout, but a quick chat with the FDM cleared that up. Also booked a second room on points that got upgraded to an Illinois Suite.

Comments: This is actually an oversized corner room with a "fake" wall built with cabinets and a curtain. I think it's quite well designed.

Was wondering if anyone else was seeing less upgrades, but based on the few messages I read in this thread, I guess not:

ITC Delhi-booked standard room, stayed in standard room
Le Meridien Fishermans Cove Seychelles-booked standard room but suite night requested and was confirmed into Jr. Suite beach access-was "upgraded" but really downgraded into the full suite, but far from beach and couldn't even see beach since view was blocked by another property
Sheraton Abu Dhabi-upgrade to Jr. Suite
Four Points Kuwait-changed to Sheraton due to construction-standard room
Four Points Dubai-upgrade
Sheraton Singapore-never have gotten an upgrade here and this was no different
Le Meridien Jakarta-have never NOT gotten an upgrade here-until now-standard room
Le Meridien KL-also have never NOT gotten an upgrade here and am currently in the smallest room I've ever had as an SPG Plat.

All in all, strange month of few upgrades.
