Thanks. Didn't see this early enough as I had to split a 3 night stay to requal for Plat. Oh well, I've got until Dec to get those stays in.

I presume you'd have to change your earning preference from points to miles? Lurker, can you confirm?

If that's the case, there is no way I'd give up SPG pts to collect AE miles with their exorbitant fees and taxes.

If this is in addition to Starpoints, then I'm all for it!

Found the T&Cs.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
•Aeroplan Bonus Miles are offered to eligible Aeroplan members who stay a minimum of three to five nights paying an Eligible Rate at participating Starwood properties during the promotional period. Advance reservations are required and bookings are based on availability. Black out dates may apply . Offer not applicable to groups. Reservations must be made directly with Starwood (by phone, www.starwoodhotels.com, or specific Starwood property website) or via a travel agent. Bookings via third-party online retailers and other wholesalers are not eligible for this bonus offer promotion. You must be a member of the Starwood Preferred Guest Program and have registered for this promotion. Membership in the SPG program is free. Please visit www.spg.com. All Starwood Preferred Guest terms and conditions apply. Please allow six to eight weeks after the promotion ends for Aeroplan Miles to be posted to your Aeroplan account.
•An Eligible Rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints in the Starwood Preferred Guest program. SPG-participating hotels and resorts and a description of Eligible Rates can be found at SPG.com under program terms and conditions. See Section 1.4 for the complete definition of Eligible Rates, but note that certain prepaid rooms where the booking is made through a third party (including but not limited to travelocity.com, expedia.com and orbitz.com) are not Eligible Rates and do not earn Starpoints or qualify toward promotional earnings.
Also does not say if the nights have to be consecutive. Lurkers?

+1 if this is Aeroplan points in addition to Starwood points.

-1 if it isn't.

Good question. Though it doesn't ask you to change preference in T&C, usually this is a case with Aeroplan & other 3rd parties when bonuses are offered. If so, nice 8,000 AE points + spg points in two weeks

Just registered but didn't get confirm e-mail. May need to call SPG to confirm...

One does not need to change their earning preference to be direct deposit to Aeroplan. One only needs to register giving their SPG and Aeroplan account numbers and stay the 3 - 5 nights on an eligible rate. Also, the nights do not need to be consecutive.

Looks like they're cumulative, not consecutive, so you're in luck it would seem.

Thanks OP for the link. I will take advantage of this to the fullest - a great incentive to get me to redirect some stays from Mariott over the coming months. I was very unexcited about the upcoming Q4 promo but for my relatively light volume of single night stays, this Aeroplan offer crushes the Q4 SPG offering!

William, if I've already checked-in, could I give my Aeroplan number now and then still receive the credit for the promo (I'm on a ~30 night consecutive stay in September).

Thanks!

This promotion is retroactive as far as registration is concerned, so all you need to do is meet the terms of the offer and register before the promotion ends.

ETA: The hotels are not equipped to register you, however. You would have to register online at www.starwoodpromos.com/aeroplanbonus
