Nice promo! But too bad that lots of hotels not participating...including those I'll be staying at (Budapest and probably Dhaka) during this period.

From my reading of the web site, the iPhone app or web site bookings will still earn the bonus 500/250 points even if it's at a property blacklisted (I mean, 'excluded') from the 'Better by Night' promo?

And never say never!!! You just don't know - maybe we should ask William to formulate some bonus whereby you get a special prize if you go to the 4 points Miami Beach
Better still - when they are ready and feel that their hotel is "ready" you will be the test client

Not so keen on the promo but good to see that all my hotels are "IN"
Looks like less hotels have opted out although wierd to see a few of the NYC hotels not in the promo

I've noticed that a particular GM that moves from various property excludes his hotel from participating in such promotion inorder to save cost for providing the additional bonus.
This particular hotel used to participate in all SPG promotion until he made his appearance at his property.
My loyalty will certainly not he with his hotel in that city but with another SPG hotel that participates.
SPG, you should make it mandatory for ALL properties to participate. Not opt-out option!

As a guy who does (mostly) award stays, finally one I can participate in. I have two revenue stays already booked for my Bali/Thailand vacation, and the properties are actually participating 
Although, I have to say, this isn't driving me to convert stays from other parts of this trip over to SPG.

And, The Westin Dhaka is now in Bangladesh.

I like it. Simpler than nice choice, and no having to pick two promo free months.
The opt outs are a bit disappointing, but, whatchagonnado?
The best part of this bonus is that it will probably be enough incentive to get me to 50 nights. And, of course, that will make me eligible to piss and moan in the suite nights thread next year. Who can put a value on pissing and moaning on the internet?

This is a very good promotion. Sitting at 85 nights now so other than Ambassador level, not much else to aspire to.
Does this mean that I will get double the triple points I already get William and then I will still get the fourth point for 75 nights? so 7x points?
Noticed that Sheraton HKG is not participating. Had eight nights booked there in October. It's off to Le Meridien Cyberport for me instead.
Has anyone else noticed that the Sheraton HKG is getting harder to harder to get upgrades and is getting noticeably more expensive. I also noted that they kicked the starpoints up to 16K/night. Makes you go hmmmmmmm.

Honest question. What is the difference between this promotion and nice choice (aside from the booking bonus). I chose 3x star points last time and looks like it will be the same again. Everyone was so angry about the last promotion and this thread has had positive comments so far.????

So my Nice Choice Promo(Triple Points) ends 30 Sept and my understanding is that I'll earn triple points for a stay commenced before 30 Sept extending into Oct.
This Better By The Night promo states:
If I check in before October 1, 2012, or check out after December 20, 2012, does my stay earn the bonus? Yes, as long as one night of the stay is within the promotion period, double or triple bonus Starpoints will be earned on every night during the entire stay (even if part of the stay falls outside the promotion period).
and
Can I take advantage of other bonus promotions at the same time? Yes, however, each promotion earns bonuses independently of each other.
So if I have a stay Sept 27 - Oct 4 do I get triple points for the stay from each promo adding up to 2+4(Nice Choice)+4(BBTN)+1(Plat)=11 points/$. If I could just add on an SPG credit card and get to 75 nights......
