Youngest Lifetime Platinum/Gold?

Apologies if this has been posted before, however, I'm curious - what is the age of the youngest Lifetime Plat/Gold out there?

I'm 27 and 40 nights away from Lifetime Platinum (10 years Plat).

Inquiring minds want to know...

How is that even possible? Traveling with your parents on your SPG account? I'm 24 and have 2 years platinum...but thats cause I'm only been working and out of college for 2 years.

After I turned 18 in '02, I earned my first year of Platinum status - as a non-rev, I used my air travel benefits a lot and stayed at a lot of hotels.

Now that I'm out of college I have a job that requires frequent travel as well...

Probably just bragging, but wait he is still 40 nights short

And out of the millions of spg members, I am quite sure there is a sizeable pool of life time platinums below 20 years of age. Because of circumstances, there are some who live in hotels; so what's the big deal

Glad you asked first, 'cause I was going to, but not as politely.....

This is like one of those "mine is bigger than yours" threads. Tacky.

Did you hit Platinum by hitting the 25 stay requirement more often than the nights requirement?

While I would love to achieve LT Plat at a young age you still have 20, 30, 40, or even 50 years left of traveling. What will LT Plat mean in that many years? The way airline/hotel programs devalue overtime it might not mean much a long time from now...There could be so many LT Plats and regular Plats that upgrades could be very hard to get, or maybe they create a higher satus level 20 years down the road and Plat becomes the new Gold.

Either way I would still love to achieve it 8 years and 430 more nights from now

I don't understand how there isn't a floor on the age for lifetime Plat. AFAIK to get night credit, the room must be booked in one's name and paid for by the person. So this would require being old enough to have a credit card and sign contracts, which I assume would be age 18 in most jurisdictions. (In addition, most hotels do not permit minors to check in and stay without adult supervision.) Hence the first year as a SPG member who earned Plat status would seem to be the year the person turned age 18, which should mean that no one can be lifetime Plat before age 26, as the tenth year of earned Plat would therrefore be the year that the person turns 27.

Where is this logic wrong?
