I was a member of the former CLEAR. Did kids get through on that program? I don't recall that being the case but then again I may be wrong. Or is this a new benefit with the revived CLEAR?

I've been offered some sort of extension by CLEAR off my last membership. However since I really don't fly to any of the current airports, it hasn't behooved me to start my clock ticking.

How long do we have to stall on this offer (SPG) before it disappears? I really don't want to use this until it gets to an airport that I frequent such as my home (IAD) or DCA, or LAX

I was a CLEAR member in MCO for the past several years, but now with TSA Precheck at MCO I never use it!

Yes, the CLEAR Family Plan is new with this reincarnation.

Your clock starts ticking when you next use CLEAR or they open CLEAR lanes at your home airport.

Exclamation

signed up for this program yesterday using the code from the e-mail... $179 charged onto my credit card posted on my amex even though it says they wouldn't charge me until after the 6 month trial

I'm a first time CLEAR user as well, so I'm not sure whats going on. I would be wary about this promotion as it seems to me like they're just fishing for $179 yearly sign ups even though the 6 month trial code goes through

I'm not making that assumption. I reapplied and was assigned a new CLEAR membership number. Looks like I will be good to go once I go to a CLEAR location and get my IDs check and picture taken.

Just so I'm understanding this correctly...you are looking at your AMEX account online and can see a line charge for $179 to your card account?

Can you see an actual charge to your AMEX account for $179 from Clear?

I'm guessing that the 179 USD is for authorization only, it should dissapear in 2 or 3 business days.

I did not enroll, I'm just giving a helping hand on the issue of the chage.

Have any SPG Golds in SF recieved this offer?
I'd love to try it out but have not got an invitation.
Just wondering if its for Plats. only?

Thanks for any replies^

Just as an FYI, the email was sent to a select group of Gold and Platinum members who generally use routes serviced by Clear. If anyone is a U. S.-based Gold or Platinum and wants a code to redeem, but did not get the email, they can contact SPG via chat, social media or by email and a code will be given to them up until the offer ends.

I'm still trying to determine whether there really has been a charge.

Sorry about the confusion. I haven't yet enrolled (hence no charge, of course). I meant that I was going to ask the same question as you re whether jammanxc had the charge posted.
