Paying for StarPRO rate with SPG AmEx

I searched quite a bit, but couldn't find a definitive answer.

What happens when I stay at a Starwood hotel on a StarPRO rate and pay with an SPG American Express card?
Will I receive:

a. 5 Starpoints/$ (1 base, 2 from SPG, 2 from AmEx)
b. 3 Starpoints/$ (1 base, 0 from SPG, 2 from Amex)
c. 1 Starpoint/$ (1 base only)

I know the Amex T&Cs talk about "eligible spend", but are they really tied that well into the SPG system that they can tell whether a charge was for an ineligible stay?
Trying to decide whether to pay with my Sapphire or SPG card. Thanks!

I'm not sure whether or not the rate earn's points. That being said the CC gives 2 pts per dollar on all Starwood spend.

Officially, d. 2 Starpoint/$ (0 base, 0 from SPG, 2 from AMEX)

In practice, YMMV. I've only had one StarPro stay so far (I just became eligible for it) and did get points for the stay. A colleague reports getting points often. Given they're not officially supposed to earn points, I try to book points-earning rates when the cost difference is minimal.

I think you're right. For some reason I thought the AMEX gives 2 extra points, but it's just one extra point, unless you're SPG Gold or higher. And "eligible purchase" in the T&Cs is probably referring to cash advances etc. which are not eligible, not StarPRO etc. rates. So I'm definitely using my new SPG card. Applied for it yesterday, have the card in my hands today, just in time for my trip tomorrow. Amazing.
Thanks all!

Update, just in case someone finds this thread with a similar question:
I indeed received 2 points per dollar: 1 for using the SPG Amex, plus 1 for using it at a Starwood hotel. No points from Starwood themselves, as expected.

Do you get point and night credits when staying on a StarPro rate?

Seems to be a grey area judging from this thread... anyone know?

Officially, StarPro rates are not eligible:

"iii. An "Eligible Rate" is the rate an SPG Member pays for a stay in a guest room at an SPG Participating Hotel unless:
...C. the guest room was booked at a tour operator, wholesaler, or crew room rate including, without limitation, STARNet and STARPRO;..."
