So you can calculate how much more you'll earn with the competition?

More like how much more I won't earn from the competition since we're fully committed to SPG bookings for our vacations this period.

There was also no history of award nights counting for elite qualification until recent. I hope you are wrong but I am not too hopeful

I won't complain about the expected 6-8K starpoints for my expected July-Sept stays, but I'm a little underwhelmed.

It won't count as per this http://www.spgpromos.com/awardnights...Q_PROMOTION#07

Q: If SPG has a promotion, such as Stays Count Double, do SPG Award stays now also count double?
A: No. Only eligible paid stays will continue to count double during these types of promotions. SPG Award stays will only count that one time toward your elite status qualification.

I was hoping for the same but we can't have everything .

Thanks, this just confirms that this promotion is a real disappointment. It will not make me to move my bookings at other chains to *W. It will also not make me to extend my stays as the treadhold interval of 10 nights for one free weekend night is too large.

- It look likes there is no free lunch ... oops ... I mean free breakfast. Let me explain.
My understanding is that the SPG member benefits (points, amenities, etc.) and promotional benefits are coming from from the same SPG budget. Then after implementing the new and improved benefits for SPG Elite members there is not much left for the promos. Personally, I would rather have old SPG promos than "free breakfast" as SPG PLT.

I sincerely hope LovetoTravel83 shared the information in post 215 today because he just didn't get around to posting it on April 1st. The hotel industry is obviously doing better this year than last, but even with lowered expectations, what a LAME promo!

Thumbs down Exceptionally Underwhelming!

WOW! I certainly do not want to jump to conclusions here...but if the above post is accurate. Wow. I will most likely not register until the very last minute...waiting to see what Hilton and Hyatt do during this Period. Then register for whatever makes the most sense...elite nights/points, etc.

even though other chains have not reported their promos... it probably can't be worst than these options...

wow... well i'm a self admitted SPG kool-aid drinker, and underwhelmed doesn't even begin to describe it.

i had really high hopes with the choice aspects. but seriously, if those are the choices its one of the worst promos i've seen. not a single one is particularly appealing.

i get that with added choices, no opt outs, and increased benefits, the promos could get scaled back... but wow, kinda speechless

Is 500 bonus points per night at Sheratons the best choice if your activity is more focused on stays?
