SPG Moments offers in the Middle East
Three new SPG Moments offers have been created for the Middle East and since we anticipate others in the future, I thought it best to announce them in their own thread:
QATAR EXXONMOBIL OPEN
SPG Members can bid for 2 packages (for 2 pax) for an overnight stay at the W Doha, 2 tickets to the Qatar Masters semi-finals, access to the VIP village, pictures with the players before the match and they will do the coin toss at the start of the semi-final match (one package for each semi-final).
VOLVO OCEAN RACE
We have 2 packages (2 pax each) for members to bid for a guided tour of ‘Azzam’ Abu Dhabi’s state-of-the-art racing yacht and enjoy a ‘behind the scenes’ session with Ian Walker, Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing’s skipper. They will also have the opportunity to meet 22-year old UAE Olympian Adil Khalid, the first UAE national to compete in the Volvo Ocean race!
Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship
SPG members can bid 5,000 Starpoints for access (for 2) to the exclusive SPG Member-only hospitality suite at the Westin Abu Dhabi with full access to the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.

i would love to do the 1st one the exxonmobile open as a tennis fan that would be cool. I wont bid tho cuz im sure the sheiks and kings have more than i do!!

Thanks William and I will seriously consider these. And it's time again for my rant about why I can't get notified about these Moments via email or Twitter or something! I love these events and would do more of them, but I can't always remember to check the website. It's over stimulation on the Internet these days! We need to be pushed.

Clinic with Colin Montgomerie in Abu Dhabi
Awesome experience folks! Not a surprise to anyone I'm sure that has taken advantage of these moments. Susan, Nadege, Andres kudos and a big high five. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Colin Montgomerie was a true gentlemen the entire time. He has gotten a repuatation in the US unfairly as being grumpy or whatever. That is a fabrication from the media as he was engaging and congenial the entire 3 days. A big ^ to Colin and to SPG for being able to secure such a great golfer for it's members to experience.
The weather was warm, but you expect that in Abu Dhabi. The St. Regis was great, considering they opened just a few months ago. We had 5 meals and the constant buffets caused numerous reports of undoing one's belt buckle a notch after the weekend. The itinerary was the following:
Thursday March 29th, check in around 1 pm to the St. Regis.
Had a cocktail reception at the hotel followed by a buffet dinner in the Olea. Colin walked around and introduced himself to all and was great.
Friday March 30th, had breakfast at the Olea followed by a 2 hour golf clinic in the morning. Had a brunch buffet at Olea which was AWESOME! They even had circus performers walking around doing tricks. We enjoyed the hotel and went as a group to the Westin Abu Dhabi for dinner at Agadir. That was a special meal as they had 6 courses brought out. Colin regaled the group of 24 or so with many stories.
Saturday we had breakfast followed by a golf tournament at the Saadiyat Beach golf course. They gave away 150k SPG points in prizes and Colin played 3 holes with each group. I actually played him even on the three holes we played together, which I'm sure I'll only remember.)
2 nights at the St. Regis, 6 meals, cilnic with Colin, round of golf at Saadiyat Beach, 3 holes with Colin, and numerous prizes given away! 10k spg points? Yes that is right.

Make the next one as I have yet to be disappointed in any of the 5 SPG moments I have done. There were people who flew in from Portland, Oregon; New Delhi, India; Zurich, Switzerland; Ireland; and of course the UAE. I met some great fellow members who I exchanged contact information with and hope to meet at some point in the future. The fellow members were great.
