2012 Status changeover time/date?

All,

When does the 2012 status changeover take place? The website is updated but it doesn't seem the 2012 status has changed. Is it March 2nd or March 1?

Just wondering...

Thanks!

Well when I tried booking a room for tonight, the calendar starts at yesterday which doesn't usually happen. So leap day must have messed up the starwood system LOL

I should be gold. I was platinum. Yesterday when I checked into Le Royal Meridien in Hamburg it was March 1 12:30pm local time and the computer still showed me as platinum and I was offered all of my platinum amenities.

The website as of now (March 2 7am local time GMT+1) still shows me as platinum.

Maybe leap day is causing some minor confusion but I was expecting to be downgraded when I checked in yesterday.

I should be gold also. SPG still shows me as Platinum. I figured it would have "switched" by now.

Oh well. (Hilton still has me at the wrong level too, but I never understood why I was Diamond there in the first place!)

We are a little behind from doing some extra IT chores related to all the new benefits, but we'll get to these eventually, so enjoy whatever extra time you have at your old status level until the switch is flipped.

I thought I lucked out and they extended my status for another year :(

When I checked into the hotel last night, I asked them if they are sure. They said yes. So, I got breakfast for free :D

Same :(

Was Gold from 2008 until now. Enjoyed it while it lasted, but mid last year I moved back to Sydney (which is where most of my stays were). Oh well!

I also got a couple of days of additional Platinum (but couldn't really use it). Today it switched to Gold and SPG kindly told me about it by sending 126 email messages within 4 minutes... :td:

Mine switched down to Gold today too!

I loved Platinum...it was the best status I had, and I valued it more than Royal Ambassador status with Intercontinental Hotels. I am very, very sad to see it go.....and this has been the only time I have actually desired being Platinum!

My switch to gold today. So sad to see it go.

It seems my spend last year fell short of $30K. I dropped from Gold to "Credit Card Member". I guess that's what used to be Preferred Plus?

Bad timing as I have 15 nights booked in the next couple of months (mix of award and paid), and could have really used that new free internet benefit.

Plat to Gold today - Lifetime Gold as well.

Down to Gold, but really can't say it's that bad. Sadly Starwood's decision to let the only decent hotels where I stay opt out of all the promos made the decision for me. I could make top tier in one hotel chain. Starwood's policies cost them my $$$. If I have to stay in the worst hotel of my options with either chain to get the promos then... off to another chain go more $$$.
