Platinum looks good on me!

Not sure what the metrics are for this to kick in, but yesterday I was at 6 stays / 17 nights this year and just had the text status display.

Today my latest stay posted and I'm at 7 stays / 21 nights and the meter started displaying:

I had pointed this out earlier in the thread as well. If we can see the details of the # of years as elite - how many were Platinum, it will be very helpful to track our progress towards the lifetime status. Thanks William for listening to and acting on our feedback!

New Point Requirements for NYC Hotels

One thing that I haven't seen anyone talking about yet is the new point requirements for two of my favorite hotels in NYC. Le Meridian and W New york went from 12,000 points to 20,000 points a night! Thats a huge increase that wasn't advertised.

Thank you. I think it'd be a good feature. It's always nice to know what target you are actually shooting for. In my case I've been Platinum for 9 years and well over the 500 nights. So I guess when I requalify for Platinum this year I will hit lifetime Platinum.

Does anyone know if that will be reflected immediately or will there be a delay?

And it's not related to the website enhancements. Like it or not SPG makes these yearly category changes around this time of year. It was just a coincidence that it happened to coincide with website changes.

Points Expire?

Does the new website list an actual expiration date for SPG points? I don't mean look at your last activity and add a year. Too much uncertainty about what is activity.

There may be a short delay, but probably not more than a week.

No, and IIRC, it's not likely that this will be an added feature.

Exclamation Language glitch?

Good evening, all.

I wanted to see if anyone else is having this same issue.

I'm US-based, with English being my preferred contact language in the SPG.com preferences. Since day 1 of the new website (as well as the old website), the language it communicated to me in was always English.

Now - my next stay (that I've planned far enough ahead for) is at the W Montreal. Suddenly, the same website that this morning had been communicating to me in English has the dynamic content around my account (homepage: number of stays YTD/number of nights YTD & My Account Page: top segment) in French text both above, inside, and below the horizontal "meatball" chart. Oddly enough, whoever did this design didn't think to change the date display to be D/M/Y when switching to French text (it's still American M/D/Y).

Could this be a language-localization attempt given that my next stay is in Quebec? I'm not physically there now, and my IP is well-recognized as sourcing from the US.

Screenshots attached. Lurkers, please feel free to PM me for more relevant details, and I'd be happy to help.

Merci, et bonne nuit!

same language problem

I am experiencing the same problem. I tried changing the language to French and then back to English to see if it switches back, but to no avail....

I'm sure I'm missing something as I am somewhat new to SPG...Is it not possible to select saved/favorite hotels in the reservation section of the home screen to book a reservation...If it is not, shouldn't the section be enhanced to include this?

Looks like the Le Meridien people are finally fighting back... Next stay theoretically in a Portuguese-speaking locale so that Quebec stay isn't the cause.
