Platinum Challenge: Strange call
I'm a brand new member. Just signed up for the Amex as well. A few hours ago I just booked 8 stays @ 4 nights each, and signed up for the Platinum challenge with a very nice lady on the phone.
About an hour later I got a call from SPG (Massachussets number). A gentleman introduced himself and explained that:
0. The lady had set it up (or explained) the challenge incorrectly.
1. The challenge is for 18 STAYS (not nights).
2. He had granted me Gold as an incentive.
I thanked him for granting me gold, but I asked again to confirm it was 18 STAYS not 18 Nights over a 3 month period. I explained that even if I stayed every week for 3 months, I would not meet the challenge. He explained that I would need to book multiple stays per week.
I'm grateful for gold, but confused.

He is wrong, it is 18 nights.
