I have no idea. Might be a good question for the Your24 Support team, however.

Or is this published benefit worth nothing as long as hotel keeps rejecting the requests (SPG has no contractual control over the property to enforce and to provide this benefit, given that the request was made per T&C)?
Sometimes there are good reasons for the rejection; sometimes it can be a system issue; ask the Your24 Support team what their take is.

If you were to have two back-to-back reservations and check out/check back in, there might be a chance of the additional point posting for the charges associated with the second reservation, but I wouldn't count on this happening (SPG status doesn't update instantly and your status during a stay is at best what is was when you checked in) or remaining when the two stays are consolidated into one. YMMV.
I wonder if anybody has any experiences/advice to share on this? I will soon cross the 75-night threshold, and it will (naturally) come within the first couple of days of a potentially three-week stay. I'm really not much into hotel hopping, but with the MR Hotel Hopper promo going on, maybe combined with this wrinkle, I should adjust fire at least temporarily...

Thanks in advance.

Leveraging the promos is a good thing to do. Just remember, your status and the points that go with it, do not start until the qualifying stay posts. So if you only need one night and have a long stay followed by a short stay, the short stay could post first and you'd get Plat points for the earlier stay. Don't bank on it, but I've seen some properties take a while to post points.

Can a hotel continue to deny Your24 even though they have availability?

Overall, I've been very happy with Your24 benefit and when I've been denied, I could see that the hotel was quite full.

I've been asking for an early check-in at Sheraton Montazah in Alexandria for several months. I have a points reservation for Aug 9th. Since you can only request Your24 twice per reservation, I keep making a new points reservation and requesting Your24 and I am denied every time usually within a few hours. The reservation is for 3 days from now and there are still rooms available on points. Is the hotel allowed to continue denying Your24? (BTW, I should clarify that there are points reservations available for the previous night, Aug 8.)

Can the Lurkers look into this please?

One thing I've noticed at properties who deny me via the system is that upon arrival I've been checked-in early anyway. Ridiculous that it happens that way, and of course stressful since there is no guarantee. All I'm saying is that being declined is no guarantee they won't check you in early.

Totally agree with this as the algorithm for checkin/out times has a normal distribution accoridng to time of year/ weekday/ weekend etc. So if a a room becomes avaiable and you are there boom, you get in early!.

Approved 13 days in advance for Your24 early check in at 1 pm at the StR San Francisco.

Approved 5 days in advance for Your24 early check in at 1 pm at W Los Angeles/Beverly Hills.

Was approved a week ago for Your24 early check in at 2 pm at the Westin San Jose. Arrived at 2 pm today and was checked in no problem. Also got comp Plat upgrade to my usual (and preferred when traveling alone) Studio Suite.

That’s 3/3 on my most recent Your24 requests. My Ambassador submitted them for me, too.

Love my 4th point, but Your24 has been useless to me. Anyone else have a better experience?

I would hardly think 1-2pm check ins are the point of Your24. I've never had an issue checking in at these times anywhere without using it, not even in NYC. For me, the value of Your24 is to be able to check in at 8am when I have an early morning check out anyway, or an 11pm check out when you had a late arrival. Sadly, in those cases, I find its more like a 25% chance of success...

They may not be YOUR preference or priority but they are appropriate and quite helpful to ME. Fortunately, in my cases, I find it’s more like 60-70% chance of success.

I clear them about half of the time - not thrilled but satisfied with the benefit

I didn't mean it as a criticism - of course for some it's helpful to have a guarateed 1pm check in, but that doesn't require a huge effort from the hotel. An 11pm checkout on the other hand requires the hotel to go the extra mile, which I would then view as a benefit worthy of making it to 75 nights at SPG.

Extra mile, indeed...which is why only very few upscale or luxury hotels have offered such a benefit at all. You’re welcome to try out the Ritz Carlton Charlotte or the Capella or Peninsula hotels which do offer what you seek—but you better be able to afford those.

In the meantime, I suggest that everyone accept that the Your24 benefit is a pretty nice compromise for such a large chain as Starwood.

I view the Your24 as nearly useless. In hundreds of SPG nights I've only had it approved once, on accident (didn't realize I had selected a check-in time of 12 that I didn't actually need), and denied every other time.

Also, I've had very good success getting a room whenever I show up. Keeping the room until I'm done is harder, but I feel like it's just as hard to ask for a 8pm checkout vs. use Your24 to get the same.
