This applies to multiple nights on a single stay.

That should answer your question.
Only just received that email (which is customised it seems for each member depending on their nights for 2011). Yeah, reading the FAQ again it does mention departure date :-) Apologies for missing that. This is a great new benefit!

Thanks to my recent need to travel to the west coast from the east, I think this could work really well given redeyes back home. I can leave the office, go for a run, and shower before heading to the airport.

One question, though. Let's say I land really late on Monday night and checkin at 12:05am on Tuesday morning. My flight home is at midnight on Thursday night, so I would check out at 10pm Thursday. What dates do I make my reservation for? Mon-Thurs? Tues-thurs? Tues-fri?

It's not a hypothetical - this is my travel plan for next week. Maybe I'll ask my ambassador if we can have a trial run before march 1st

The article in the WSJ today says that SPG is paying $25M out of its "pool of fees" for enhancements to the program, but without a subscription I couldn't see the whole article. It does sound like Starwood is enhancing the deal for its member hotels as well as its member guests.

However, the hotel necessarily knows when an Ambassador contacts them that the guest is part of the Ambassador program.

Also, IIRC whenever my hotel bill is printed, there is the line on the lower left saying something like "as a SPG whatever, your stay will earn approximately XXXX points" where the XXXX number there is supposed to be three times my eligible spend at the property. Now when a bill is printed for a Plat 75 or Plat 100 person, the number will be FOUR times the eligible spend and the hotel will be aware that the guest is at least a Plat75.

So logically speaking, it seems to me that the properties will indeed know something about the four tiers of Plat.

Geez, if Starwood would have let me know I could have earned this status by concentrating my stays, had C&P count towards stays, I would have gotten 75 if not 100 nights.

This line does indeed exist. But, that line never makes any sense for my bills. Week to week it is different at the same hotel with the same rate and the same number of nights. After many stays, I pay 0 attention to this line and I doubt the hotel does.

Logically, you are right. In practice though....eeeehhhh.....

It would be Tuesday to Friday if you are using YOUR24 benefit. Do take note that members have to request for this 48 hours prior to arrival and subjected to availability. I know I am a nag so hope you don't mind.

Not to be *more* of a nag...but if the member has to request in advance, then when making the reservation, it's still not exactly clear which dates to select.

In reality, my experience in business travel tells me that if a property is going to be sold out on a given night of the week, it's likely to be Tuesday. Why? I don't know, but that's what usually seems to be the case. I assume that most properties would be willing to juggle arrival/departure dates to accommodate such a situation where the reservation is made for M-Th, but the Your24 request then changes it to T-F. And if they're unable to juggle the dates, they'd likely deny the request anyway...

Lurkers,

What if I'm checking in on Sunday at 10 PM and would like to check out on Monday 10 PM, Should I book Monday-Tuesday even though I'm checking in on a Sunday?

It's similar to post #39 although this would fall in the day prior.

There is another way to work around this. You can make a reservation from Tuesday to Thursday, request for YOUR24 benefit(subjected to availability), check in at 9AM local time on Tuesday and request for late check out to 4PM on Thursday, subjected to availability at resorts and conference locations..

You can also make a reservation from Monday to Thursday, forget about YOUR24 request and proceed by asking for a late checkout till 4PM on Thursday, subjected to availability at resorts and conference locations.

I am not in the position to comment on your assumption.

One night on Sunday.

Once again, request for this benefit 48 hours prior to arrival, subjected to availability.

This is a great tier and something I will aspire to in 2013 if not 2012! Came close to hitting it in 2011 without really trying hard!

Pfft. Conventional.

I want a sash with patches to sew on for each of these achievements.
