First time using SNAs..
I’m looking to stay at a St Regis which offers around 6 different suites for SNAs.
if I select all, how does the SNA process actually work? Does the system automatically upgrade me to the best suite out of those 6 or is there a chance I might get the lowest end suite? Can’t find any answer to this online or on marriotts website..
in the app it shows all six suites, where the most expensive / largest one is shown at the top, would it be a reasonable assumption that they will try upgrade to the biggest/best suite?

The system has stopped checking and you may not submit Suite Night Awards request for this reservation.
You may find below informaiton in the terms and conditions of the Loyalty program in regard to Suite Night Awards.
Suite Night Award use is based upon availability of the requested suite or premium room. Checking for availability begins five (5) days before arrival. If availability is not confirmed five (5) days before arrival, availability is checked each day before arrival up to 2 p.m. local time of the Participating Property one (1) day prior to arrival. If at that time Suite Night Awards cannot be confirmed, the Suite Night Awards are credited back to the Member's account.

As I read it, what you wrote, and what the T&Cs say are contradictory - the T&Cs say they will check 'each day for 5 days' but in my scenario, I got the "sorry" notice at exactly 5 days out, and they have returned the Suite Reward nights.
Shouldn't they keep checking for the next 4 days as well?

In theory, the system does check up until 2 pm the day before. Although it doesn't happen, I've had SNAs that didn't clear at T-5 days but did at T-4 days. It even happened for me last week. Very hard in general to predict if and when SNAs will clear though. Checking availability of suites on the hotel website isn't evidence of anything, as plenty have said upthread.

I don't think Christina understood the reference to T-5 being the start of the run. Can you re-attach an SNA to this booking?

That makes sense, yes, I will try to re-attach it and see what happens.
Having not done these before, I was expecting a 'sorry, we checked today and didn't find anything, but will check tomorrow' type message, vs the one I received.
Thank you!
T.

IME this is what happens: You get the "we're still trying" email at T-5 (usually about twenty minutes after the window), then nothing (and I'm not sure how often the system checks, but my guess would be T-5, T-3, T-2, and T-1) until the "we're returning your SNAs" message at T-1. If the upgrade clears at one of these checks, you'll get the suite confirmation email shortly after it happens (maybe about thirty minutes after the window) and the suite would show on the reservation the the SPG website, with reference to the original room category removed.
With SPG, the rules were explicit that you would be confirmed into the highest available suite of the categories you checked. Nevertheless, my SOP was always to check only the suite categories I really wanted at the beginning of the year (for instance, no junior suites for me as I didn't want to waste my SNAs on them) but as expiration approached for SNAs or if I had a small number leftover before I earned the new set, I would get more liberal about the room categories I was willing to accept.
Because of the categories, I prefer to request SNAs myself online as IME Plat Concierge phone agents didn't seem to understand this and would check all categories automatically, not understanding the instruction or why you were asking which categories were possible.
Since the merger, I'm not convinced we know that the system automatically confirms the highest available suite category.
BTW, some (few) properties include large family rooms in the SNA pool, so be careful you don't check these unless you want a room with three beds or bunk beds.

I hit 50 SPG nights in June and got 10 SNAs.
I hit 75 (combined) nights last Thursday and haven't seen any info on how to select 5 more SNAs -- will I get an email? How long should it take?

There's a link in the wiki to choose your gift. I wouldn't wait for an email.

I'm sure it's a temporary thing. Marriott should fix it in 8-10 weeks.

This whole merger is stupid. Phone service sucks. No idea how to make changes to travel package. Got shorted on Your24 for last 5 months. Most of all, website is impossible compared to SPG. Hyatt's isn't much better theoretically, but it isn't cluttered with 200 random roadside motels every time I search for a downtown full-service joint. Whoever had the hare-brained idea of making the site refresh every. time. I. check. or. uncheck. a. brand. needs to be kept away from interior decorating in Hell.
Planning to burn these SNAs at St Regis NY, Gritti, etc and call it a wrap. Hyatt where I need it, Amex FHR for the rest.
