Found it here:

Didn't find the exact location, though...

According to:

https://www.starwoodhotels.com/fourp...ll/detail.html

The address is Avenida Diagonal 161-163, which points to a rebrand of the Hotel Amrey Diagonal

Not where I was hoping it would be - although at least it will be a more affordable option than Le Meridien or W

Thanks for posting this.

Its actually quite an interesting location on the corner of La Rambla de Poblenou a smaller/quieter version of the well known Las Ramblas in central Barcelona with quite a few outdoor dining options. Metro access is good and there is a shopping centre with a huge Carrefour Supermarket almost on its doorstep. I stayed last week at the Holiday Inn Express nearby and really liked the local atmosphere of the area.

There's a link at the bottom of the page there for the Le Meridien Ra Hotel Beach & Spa. So I'm guessing that these properties have the same owner.

4 points Barcelona Diagonal - opens 5 October 2011

Anybody know anything about this opening?

Great to see a new hotel in Barcelona but this was out of the blue (for me at least..)^

http://www.starwoodhotels.com/prefer...language=en_US

Although it says open on 5 october no prices are yet available for november...

Surely not opening in 3 days time...

its a refalg from what others have posted

Seeing the location it looks worse then the Ws, it would hav eto be a cat 2 or dirt cheap for me to go back to that arae. Did it for my last night at a HEX its way out of the loop

IMO cant beat Le Meridiens location, I prefer it over the Ws, its just nice being able to walk out of the Hotel and bam be in the smack of things w/o having to use any transport. But if the price is right I can be lured towards it

Did you know it was opening NOW as well the 4 points??

Le Meridien I agree - amazing location.. I go with a car though and parking at the W is easier (although not too difficult with Le Meridien...)^

I don't have anything to draw from in this regard. I get emails sent to me when a new hotel is going online and none have been sent regarding this one yet.

If/when I get the email, I don't mind updating the thread, however.

The location is bad for sightseeing but can be convenient if you have to work in that part of the city.
The location of the W is not good either but I guess that the views from the hotel compensate it.

I actually quite like the location of the W - walk 500 metres and you are in a nice area - great if you have a car (great parking)^

Now on the website says teh 4 points is opening on the 6th of October...

Boh!!!

Hi terminalfive,

Barcelona is a small city. If you walk 500 meters normally you can always find a nice area, regardless of where you are staying.
Nevertheless and as you mentioned on an earlier post, LM and hotels in the Paseo de Gracia area are unbeatable for sightseeing.
