IMHO I don't think that this special offer has anything to do whether you get the extra points for the stay or not.

Once you have linked your FourSquare account with your SPG account it is relatively easy for SPG to run a sweep and match your check ins and actual stays.

Right now you can activate the special offer even when you are not staying at the hotel so doubt that SPG would stupid enough to only use that to award the points.

Last night when I had checked in to the Sheraton LAX and done the FourSquare checkin I was able to check in to the Four Points and unlock the special there too using FourSquare.

First attempt last night at the Fairfax in DC. No Special Offers icon next to the name, and no other location on 4SQ to choose from. Hope the 250 points show up

I used to stay at the Fairfax and there were definitely multiple locations, three of which looked pretty official and I could never decide which one to pick (yay for this promo helping to fix that). You may have the wrong one? I'm not there anymore so I don't know if any of them have the special offer...

So far I haven't seen an answer to the second question, anyone?

You need to read the thread just like the rest of us did. Either that or petition FT to add QuickSummary posts in Post #1. Or you need to be more careful reading as your exact question was answered less than 10 posts above yours.

Like I said, question still not answered.

the home page gives no indication whatsoever how to click on Starwood properties. According to *wood's page my two accounts are linked, but I see nothing to indicate that when I log on to the 4sq website. Maybe it's more intuitive when using a smart phone (which I have no use for), but the website is useless as far as I can tell. Additionally, I've reads through the FAQ's and all I can find is info on phone apps, not using their website. I guess the million dollar question I need answered is how do you 'check in' using the website?

And you won't. You just have to trust them that it's done.

Did you read the FAQ called "Checking in"? How about the prominent question "How do I check in via mobile web?"

Checking in: http://support.foursquare.com/forums/192443-checking-in
Using mobile checkin: http://support.foursquare.com/entrie...via-mobile-web

Go to Settings on the foursquare website, and scroll down to Connections. You should see STARWOOD PREFERRED GUEST listed there.

Not very helpful either, because it says:

"If you don't have a phone that will run one of our apps (iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, webOS, Winmo7, Symbian) but your phone can access the internet"

Well I don't have a phone that can access the internet, just a laptop. So then what?

Maybe I found the answer
If I'm reading this right, you can access it here:

http://m.foursquare.com

Although right now I get an error/under maintenance message. I'll try back later

Will I still get the 250 bonus points?

I guess we will have to see how that plays out. I'm sure I'll hear about it if you don't.
