Thanks for the confirmation. Great promo for me nonetheless.

Would the list of 200 resorts be similar to the Explore 200 Resorts link on the SPG main page?

Also can anyone comment on past availability and treatment that one may expect as a SPG plat with a "free" stay with a promo similar to this one.

Would availability be similar to availablity booking with points only? Would Plat benefits be similar to the benefits one would likely get when staying on a points only award?

Thanks for any tips. This promo looks exciting.

Treatment should be the same as if you booked a regular points-only award. Which should be the same as if you booked a paid room. (Other than any additional perks that are tied to a cash rate such as some hotels that include breakfast with most cash rates.)

I can't say for sure, but I would think that the resorts will get reimbursed by SPG the same as they would for a standard points award.

I assume, as with FWN, that free nights will be non-transferable?

Looking forward to the list of "resorts". We'll earn three free nights, but may or may not actually be able to use them.

I know the terms in conditions aren't live yet, but in people's past experience going from one hotel to another in the same city counts as two stays, right?

And if it does, would going from one hotel (a) to another hotel (b) back to the original (a) in a three day period count as three stays?

I have the luxury of staying five nights a week in New York where there are plenty of *wood properties, but if I could just hop between two it would make my life that much easier. Thanks.

May I be so bold as to definitively answer "yes" to both. This is what's known as "hotel hopping"... a frequent and popular sport among FT'ers. ^

Love the longer redemption period which is a week longer than last year almost. I think it ended on the 16th of Dec last year. Although we certainly would have liked to use them everywhere, I guess the fact we can use them any day of the week is a nice trade off. Now for the planning.)

Yeah, just wanted to double check on the a to b to a thing. Because it is way easier just to leave a bag at two hotels than to carry it around all the time. By hotel hopping I could get 15 nights.... maybe a little aggressive to use by the end of the year....

Have any of the free nights been transferable? I don't think these will be.

Two questions for the lurkers:

1. Will stays that begin before 5/1, but end on 5/1 (checkout) count?
2. I think the answer to this is no, but does one need to register for the promotion before booking travel? Does one need to register before actually completing the stays?

That's fine. At least we will be eligible for 10% off on one person's meal when accompanied by at least five other people paying full price at the resort's most expensive restaurant* ....or 5% off cloth laundering.

* - good for one meal regardless of length of stay

No, because you would not be staying the night of 5/1.

No, registration can be retroactive as long as it is done by June 30th before midnight U. S. Eastern time.
