saad, kitsura, sc flyer and a host of others who are taking the time off... it's good to see so much light hearted banter & creative writing here at FT while we ponder the deeper meaning of SL's teaser of
" guess what's next."

A nice respite from the rigors of travel we are all engaged in; whether for leisure or biz

Off-Peak award option for overpriced Cat7 properties such as Santa Marina, Mykonos where a Classic room is just EUR 168 in May (or 30K points).

Starwood to cease charging double the award price for standard suites at some all-suite properties such as Cat7 Mystique (Santorini) where a suite in May is EUR 434 (or 60K points).

SPG50 availability to be able to be searched and booked on spg.com.

Annual SPG Amex cardholder renewal gift to waive peak date surcharges for one award redemption.

SPG Mastercard for US residents.

SPG Amex to drop annual fee.

"platinum security" -- a TSA representative of your preferred gender and type will perform an enhanced pat-down and bag search in the privacy of your hotel room and escort you from the hotel to your gate or lounge.

All these are very reasonable and IMHO, long overdue!

I seem to remember a property in Bangkok where something near to this policy was already implemented...

Don't recall just what TSA stood for though...TemporaryStarwoodAssociate ???

Each room comes with a free drink, a single plum, floating in perfume, served in a mans hat.

Free breakfast on award stays at hotels which include breakfast in most standard rates.

A new standard to provide two luggage racks in each hotel room since most couples show up with more than one suitcase.

A full lineup of common cable channels (including HBO and movie channels) rather than the limited selection of channels found in most US Starwoods.

New WestinWORKOUT® gym equipment to generate power for the hotels as a new green initiative. (Earn Starpoints by exercising!)

How about not stretching the video on widescreen TVs just because they can? Content should be shown in its native resolution, not ruined just to fit the screen.

A huge, huge +1. The channel lineup at most Starwoods is significantly lacking.

Gotta be either
  • Free bedbugs on all C&P stays
  • Complimentary 4am checkout for elites on day of departure (mandatory at all resort properties, i.e., those with the letters W, T, or E in their names)

Breakfast. Whatever it is, I like the suite upgrades the way they are.
