Agree. Stayed five times at the PA. Always thought breakfast was very good. No isses with the coffee. Admit my stays were in Jan, Feb, Mr 10. things might have changed.

Plus:
Very nice staff that bend backwards to be of service.
New trendy rooms
Nice bar

Minus:
Contruction works starting at 8am instead of 10am as stated on a note by the GM.
Walls very thin between rooms, can hear neighbour's TV.
Shower stall does not drain well, resulting in a swimming pool every time.
Water stains on the ceiling of the bathroom (even if the hotel was opened 28 days ago)

Don't think I'll return.

Is it better to book a room with 2 Queen beds so that we get more space, or will the 2 beds just take more floor space?

That's what they ended up giving us to provide more room for the baby cot.

MC promo ? Have you done it this.

I am in late and out early. Need three total unique nights in BKK. Would putting the Four Points on for the first night and third night make two qualifications toward the current promo? The second would be at Le Royal Meridien on night two. 1900 TB at Four Points. Thanks.

Agree. Easy walk from 4 Points to the Westin.

Funny Incident: Was at the SGS and needed to move to the 4 Points. Traffic was heavy and taxi's didn't want to take me on such a short trip. I had three large bags, and was debating the walk/stairs.

SGS Porters finally just grabbed my bags and started walking across the skywalk, down the stairs and along the street to the 4 Points. We all laughed at the sight. Them in thier formal uniforms and me in shorts. Got some funny looks from people on the street. I tipped them well

Cancelled my upcoming stay - various reasons - kinda glad I did now actually, given the types of issues noted here. "Take me to the Hilton......"

Great improvements at the Four Points (in only their first month)

I am currently at the Four Points again, for my second stay in a month. Although I just arrived yesterday afternoon, I have some observations to pass on.

Although it's only a Four Points, the team seems genuinely concerned that people enjoy their stay. I can atttest to the fact that several items mentioned here have been addressed. Let me elaborate.

During a discussion with the FOM (who came from the Westin), I mentioned that Platinum members were frustrated at being given the small room (there are not many small rooms). She acknowledged that they were aware of the comments that were posted on the internet regarding this. We discussed their thoughts and some of their problems/solutions. I won't post our comments unless she says I can, but they are aware and I expect improvements... from what I've been told anyway.

In my room, was a local amenity (mango and sticky rice) and a personally signed greeting card from the hotel GM. I was escorted to my room, and having previously stayed in the same room, I then made a few comments to the agent, for them to pass on to the team. The staff member seemed interested in my feedback and took the time to listen. I know it's not important to escort every guest to their rooms, but as a Platinum, it's a very nice perk and it doesn't occur at all Thai SPG properties. Bravo.

The hotel has made some changes. They have turned down the 'elevator music' in the elevator. ^^ Open less than a month, they are adapting to ensure guest comfort. (The Le Meridiens could learn from this tactic, with their elevator music consistently too loud.)

Breakfast has improved too. Although busier than ever, they are operating smoothly. Every item that has been mentioned on this thread appears to be addressed. Quiet music in the background was playing, spoons were on each table setting, coffee was being refilled regularly, and even a napkin was tied tightly around the Khao Tom (rice soup) lid. The manangement are hands on here and it's showing.

The Beervault team is wonderful. Not surprising that they have acquired staff from Bar Su. Although a seeming a bit small at sometimes, the ambience is great. I have yet to try sitting in their loft seating upstairs. Free snacks and drinks for Platinums is a great benefit.

The Beervault currently has a buy one, get one happy hour promotion on drinks each evening, including complimentary snacks. This may not last long. Come and check the place out. At 2 for 1 pricing, you can't go wrong!

Beervault is solid. I can't wait for the rooftop bar to open.
^^ 2 more thumbs up for the F&B here.

Free wifi for all guests in the lobby. Also a password to use the huge screen Macs in the lobby is a great perk for those who have come without their laptop.

I took the comp shuttle to the BTS SkyTrain yesterday. It cuts through its own underground parking lot and literally takes less than one minute to take you there. ^

This hotel seems to be really trying to institute changes, to listen to guests comments, and make corrections if needed.

Tough competition on Soi 15 alone, and throughout the whole of Bangkok. Yes this is only a (strong) three star property, but remember they're not trying to be a Four Seasons. If the price stays right, this is a great hotel.

Oh, one last thing. The suites are awesome. Unfortunately, they cannot be booked online for many months during 2011. I hope this is temporary. The demand for the suites from the corporate customers is strong, but I would hope the hotel opens them for sale during periods when they are not booked. They have offered certain people an upgrade to Jr Suite for 1500THB and a Terrace Suite for 3000THB. If you consider that people are already paying 1900-2500THB for their bookings, and future reservations are demanding 3700THB. I think 4000THB for a Jr Suite is just over the limit of what I would pay, with 5200 being too much. The same could be said for the Terrace Suite. Is it worth 4900-6700THB? I don't think so. At least not for a Platinum member. In any event, supply and demand will dictate the price, not my comments.

But I would like to kindly request that the hotel re-open its suites for sale on SPG.com, even at re-assessed prices. Please and thank you.
