Thumbs down 'bout time!

'bout time - but make sure the damn app works!

The following options work
  • My Account
  • My Stays
  • My Recent Activity

However, I cannot "Find a hotel" or use the "customer Support" features.

Every time I search for a hotel. Cities don't auto populate in the Destination field. When I manually type in everything and hit "find now" all I get is "This page cannot be displayed. It is currently unavailable"

I using a BB Bold 9700 anyone else try to book a room?

I'm android so stuck using the mobile site, but I have the same problems with that. If I search for a hotel, I get an error message. Not so useful.

My Bold 9700 doesn't work for finding a hotel either.

Why was this released if not properly tested or functioning?

As soon as I land, I will dl and test it. Switching back to the BB from the Droid X is painful. I hope they work the kinks out.

works fine here on a Bold 9700 running 5.0.0.862

Sounds like an application permissions problem. Are either / both of you on a BES?

While I am, I have no application control policy settings pushed to my device, which is why I'm probably not having any problems

You might try going to Options > Applications > SPG Mobile Application > Edit Permissions

note anything that is Deny ... specifically check Connections > Internet (mine is set to prompt and when any http connection is requested I allow it and add it to the allowed sites permanently, but don't allow just any http for the app.)

What OS Version are you running? (Options > About > 3rd line down should read 5.0.0.xxx)

Perhaps you also remember the website "upgrade" fiasco from a couple of years ago?

Click on either calendar icon - NOT FOUND

OK, manually enter both dates and hit Find Now - NOT FOUND

Don't enter any dates - NOT FOUND

OK, so the entire Find A Hotel section is non-functional

Customer Support - "See a single listing of all our phone number, click here" - NOT FOUND

Go into, The Lobby, select Explore, hit the back key - back to the main menu - Navigation inconsistent will all other BB apps. Yes, menu->Back works, but it's twice as many UI functions.

More -> Terms & Conditions - now there is no "Back" option on the menu, but the back button does go back a screen. No consistent navigation model.

"Remember my: Stay Access" On/Off - Huh? (after you select On, it tells you what it does

Scrolling up or down flashes a bright white screen between every line scroll - how many seizures will this trigger.

Several locations where there should be graphics, just a small icon and "Starwood Preferred Guest" in black font on a white background - placeholder for a graphic that can't be found.

Bold 9650 OS 5.0.0.699, running with BES

Looks like a type Beta-1 release to me.

For anything not found it sounds like an http permissions problem. I'm on a BES and have none of these problems. I've also tried with a non BES device and no problems there either. (BB 8320 running 4.5)
