Hmm.. A family member tried and thought she got some points. Entered address and other info but then saw, a we're-sorry-there's-an-error message. Then redirected to the start. Did anyone else have this problem?

You have to use an AMEX card.

I got 5x7k = 35k but in the wrong account. Oh, well, guess I'll transfer them by calling them up.

Also, I put in my email address instead of SPG number when they asked me for it. Hope no trouble.

Man, the 10k went fast.

When you click purchase you get to a buy screen that has a five minute timer. So that message means you missed it unless someone gives up and doesn't complete the purchase.

I got two different ones at 10k and 7k by clicking exactly at 10am, then the smaller Loft offer gave that message...

I think I got a night or two! Even though I bought (or tried to buy?) multiple nights, I got the

Within 5 business days from date of purchase, 10,000 Starpoints® will be deposited into the Starwood Preferred Guest® (SPG®) account you provided at time of purchase which can be used for a 1-night stay at a Category 4 SPG hotel.
message.

The email notification does have the right quantity. Sheraton (or Westin) here we come!

I don't understand the US-only requirement either, especially on a promotion to invite people to visit America, but I guess it's possible that some wacky foreign country will have some wacky law that creates some weird liability.

No that is only for the bidding, the fixed price purchases are any card, I bought on an AA Visa card fine.

I've been trying all variations (quantity + offer) and still can't get past the busy message. Congrats to those who've got it to work, though! Good deal.

It's just like calling in to a radio station contest. Keep clicking over and over and over again. I got 5 x 7000 at 10:11.

Of course, I also got 5 x 10,000 at 10:00:01

was one of the lucky ones...

...it's funny because I NEVER EVER won on the AMEX Daily Wish things. But this time around, I grabbed 7,000 x 3 = 21,000 SPG points for $300. FYI, the 7,000 point packages had a $0.14 cost vs. $0.145 for the 10,000 points packages and $0.15 for the 4,000 points packages. Small difference, but I am a dork

THANKS STARWOOD!!!!

Oh.. I thought according to the terms, for the fixed-price offers, any valid credit card was eligible.

It was only for the auction that you had to use an Amex card.

Darn.. I was actually able to select 5x10K...
