You're absolutely right. Everyone stay away from this deal and let us "suckers" buy the points. Move along. Nothing to see here people.

If I am able successfully purchase points, will they be credited to my account immediately?

If not, how long will it take?

Thanks!

From the T&C:

# Within five (5) business days from date of purchase, you will have 10,000 Starpoints® deposited into the SPG® account provided at time of purchase which can be used for a one (1)-night stay at a Category Four (4) SPG hotel.

I hope that I'm the only one (1) trying for this on Monday at eleven (11) o'clock.

not a bad deal if you have 10K and can get 50K for under $750 . .use for two RT tickets and 5 nights at a cat 3.
Actually 50K points for 60K miles

I quoted the SPG site on that and it includes hotel stay. . .guess you could xfer 50K for miles but not sure why one would want to do that rather then use another 10K miles to get 5 nts hotel stay.

Yep, the US citizens-only rule is harsh. I guess our dollars are not so valuable as the dollars of the US citizens.

This doesn't seem like a great deal for airline miles to me either, but I've never thought transferring starpoints to airline miles was ever a good idea, but lots of people do it.

20K will get you a free night at SR Aspen over Christmas $900+, W Times Square over NYE $600+, or SR Monarch Beach anytime of the year where rates are usually in the $400-$500 range.

But I guess if you don't have a use for the points at higher value properties or if you have a ton of points, you might as well transfer them to airlines for a free flight.

Trying to get it now (10am EST on the dot), but this message pops up --
Sorry, the item(s) you selected
is currently in someone else's cart.

But they might choose not to buy it, so here's what you can do:
1. Try again in a few minutes, or
2. Try selecting a smaller quantity

I think I got 5 10Ks for me and 5 7Ks for my wife. Didn't pay enough attention, of course.
