By dining in a participating restaurant at an SPG-participating hotel or resort.

You will know that it is a participating restaurant if you could - as a registered guest of the hotel/resort - charge your meal to your room account. Non-SPG participating properties are listed in the Terms and Conditions of membership.

SPG does not participate in Rewards Network.

Fair enough. And I'd be able to give my SPG number to the waiter when paying my bill? Or how would I communicate that?

That's what it implies in the T&C's:

5.7. You may also earn Starpoints for food and beverage charges of US$10 or more in Participating Properties’ restaurants even if you are not a registered guest, when you present your Membership card; however, these earnings will not count as an Eligible Stay or Eligible Night towards elite levels of Membership or for threshold bonuses and promotions.

The waiter should take the card, fill out a form, and bring it back to you to sign. If they don't or you get a deer-in-the-headlights look, just save the receipt and fax it to Program Services and ask them to post it as a dining only credit.

Got it. I was just a bit confused by your mention of a "stay" transaction.

Wonderful offer, but... Oops! just 3 days late to the party!
When is the next offer of starpoints? Please post or PM if you can.

Anyone have any thoughts on the CMA auction on Monday? Wondering with all the flooding how popular it will be. My husband and I are huge fans of country and this would be something for us but not at thousands of dollars and I've noticed most auction items go at about $5K.

I'm sure it will be up into the thousands. I was actually eyeballing this for my mother, who's a big country music fan and doesn't get out much. She'd be absolutely dazzled!

Thanks for the answer. I would rather have my hopes crushed authoritatively than rely on false hope.
