This is great news

Just one question:

Is this also valid for internet access through the TV or only for portable PC's

Excellent news and very much appreciated. I look forward to making use of it from next week.

Thanks to the SPG team for listening to the feedback of members and for making a genuine enhancement.

Just to put a slightly different spin on the TY messages...

"Well, it's about time!"

This will definitely have an impact on my bookings! This factor has greatly impacted my choice of hotels and my satisfaction with some stays. In Europe, this will be a huge savings! Between internet fees and the elimination of many lounges, I've been mostly avoiding Westins lately.

Within the US, my ability to tether to my smartphone has reduced my reliance on in-room internet somewhat.

Thanks for the notice, Starwood Lurker! This is a wonderful change!

Still not enough to compel me to go for Platinum status. But a very nice benefit for the folks who have it.

I tether internationally, too, generally. With the nice 3G networks all over Europe I get great speeds and the costs are trivial, especially since I'm going to be using my phone while out of the room anyways. It is a sunk cost in that regard.

Good news... now if you rolled out some sort of confirmed suite upgrades, I may have to stop this little affair I am having with Hyatt

Thx for the news William and to SPG and Hyatt. SPG's playing a little catch up on this one, but better late than never.

The only downside to this is now I may actually drag my laptop on vacation to St Maarten.
