Starpoints transfer to Amtrak Guest Rewards

I wanted to transfer some of my Starpoints to my Amtrak Guest Rewards account. The website says that you can, at a 1:1 ratio, and that you have to call, so I did...

The customer service rep, while very nice, didn't know that this was possible at first. I kept asking, and he eventually asked someone else, who said that I had to transfer them in 5000-point increments. Can anyone confirm? (He still seemed a bit unsure... and I don't actually want to transfer that many.)

Also, does anyone have experience with how long the transfer takes?

Thanks!

• 1:1 Ratio
• Minimum of 5,000 Starpoints
• Transfers allowed in increments of 5,000 Starpoints
• Maximum transfer of up to 100,000 Starpoints
• Only one transaction per 24 hour period
• Both the SPG and Amtrak accounts will have to have the same member name listed in order to complete the transfer. Different names will cause the transfer to reject.
• Transfers are one way only; once transferred to Amtrak, they cannot be returned to Starpoints.
AMTRAK transfers do NOT get 5,000 bonus Starpoints for every 20,000 transferred

Also, does anyone have experience with how long the transfer takes?

Thanks!
• Transfer can take up to 14 days to complete

Enjoy!
20,000 SPG = 10,000 Continental points.
