All other properties so far had not folios under the door or "pushed" into my room since October 2012. This were the only exceptions.
I think sometimes it is better to contact the property directly if you want some action on a problem. A quick e-mail to the property will allow the people that manage the property to become aware of the problem.

Hospitality industry typically has a high turn over rate, but I'm sure that it is not easy to find quality replacements to run the front desk through the night. The problem may be poor training or could just be lazy service.

The situation with some guests' information (home address, stay details) being posted in public on Google is something that only Starwood HQ can deal with.

At any normal company, this would be a fix it yesterday, hair on fire kind of problem. But Starwood is so hostile to customer privacy that I don't think they even see it as a bug. (It's been like that for a long time. I posted about it here last March.)

We can all just watch whether the suite night awards the Canadian guest applied to her prepaid Hawaiian vacation will clear.

We are aware of this issue and take the privacy and security of our guest information very seriously. Currently we have a large task team investigating this matter and are we determining short and long term solutions to this important issue. We are also working with the third party search engines to address this issue as well.

If even the famous Mr Starwood Walker is involved it must be really serious matter! Hopefully the company can solve the issue soon! Thank you all for informing us about the data leak. Singnature: Edward Snowdon

Dear Lurkers,

member Moriens has posted a detailed explanation (in his opinion) of how and why this has occurred. I hope you will pass this info to your IT Team, since it seems very helpful to me.

This is ridiculously easy to fix (as has been partially explained already). Starwood, if you need any help with this, let me know. Will code for Starpoints, if needed ;-)

The SPG drone would take you out even before reaching the front desk!

Drone is called "Rev Enforcer1"

with the details listed there, it doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to drain his account of *points.

i guess what is somewhat surprising to me, is that there aren't more of these "reservations" indexed by google.
