Will be travelling to HKG next month. As a UA Gold travelling in NH economy what's the best shower facilities available at the various lounges?
Does the UA Club in HKG still offer a shower? Checking the UA Club website it no longer lists a shower (only Global First which I suspect I won't have access to) which is troubling.
Safe Travels,
James

I went to the centurion lounge, thai first lounge, SQ lounge, and the United Global First.
I was shocked that United was the best by far. The SQ lounge was a major let down. It was crowded and their ala carte menu was lackluster as best. The first class SQ section is just a small sized J part. The food spread was identical. This was a major let down considering I’ve been to “The Room” in SIN many times and that’s obviously one of the best F lounges.
The UA Global First was quiet, nobody was in there, it had an extensive ala carte menu, and a personal butler walking around asking if anyone needed or wanted anything. I couldn’t actually believe I was in a club being operated by United.

The Centurion lounge was a pretty typical Centurion lounge you would find in the states. They had a decent spread of food, and it’s the first centurion lounge I’ve been in where it wasn’t packed to the gills. But none of them came close to the UA Global First. The ala carte menu was really good, and you could have as much of whatever you wanted. Plus it’s very quiet, plenty of outlets, great internet, and the personal butler walking around really makes this one of the best F lounges out there IMHO.

It's perfectably acceptable and was at one time one of the best international UCs AFAIK. It isn't up there with the LHR one, but it's pleasant enough to spend an hour or two, the food selection is ok for a hot snack and some drinks, easily better than Domestic UCs.

Sorry I cannot answer your question about the main lounge as when you enter as a F pax, they escort you into the United Global First lounge immediately and you don’t see the main club.
Im sure there are others here who can chime in.

[QUOTE=j2simpso;29759819how does the UC compare to the United Global First lounge (hopefully not as based as the Domestic UC?)?[/QUOTE]
I personally like the SKL best of the HKG business lounges. But it is dark (no windows) and can get crowded at certain times of day. It's also about 10 minutes from the UA gates.

But as a first class passenger, nothing beats the United Global First Lounge.

I have to say this. I’ve flown CX probably close to 20x in F, and while their lounges in HKG are very nice there is no denying that, the UA Global First was not far behind. What I liked best about the UA Global First lounge was that its quiet, the food is pretty darn good, and outlets galore. The CX lounges are obviously very nice but can get crowded.
In any event I just couldn’t believe UA actually runs a lounge that is probably one of my favorite F lounges worldwide.
