C* lounge in MAD?

Hello,

I am on a C ticket from MAD to IST on Turkish airlines and I was wondering which lounge is available for Star Alliance members? Hopefully there's one available on T1.

Many thanks :)

You'll be able to use the brand new and very nice JK Sala VIP.

The JK lounge is in the Schengen area, C gates. TK will leave from gates A or B, where no Spanair flights leave. There is a generic airport lounge for C passengers, nothing to write home about

Hmmm that sucks. Thanks for the information. Do you know if they are at least in the same terminal? Thanks again.

Also, I cannot believe SA doesn't have a proper lounge to accommodate C passengers. I had to choose betweek TK and IB, and decided TK would better serve me on my flight to Istanbul as the inflight service of IB is horrible and I accumulate on SA, not OneWorld...

Let's see how this works out.

I am not very familiar with MAD (passed the airport twice I think) but I would not be surprised if you enter the Schengen transit area first and then pass passport control to enter the non-Schengen area.
If so you can use the JK lounge anyway as you have *G status and travel the same day on a *A carrier. Should not be a problem...

Yes, you may be able to enter airside at the Schengen entry point, and then turn right to go through passport control. However, since they control the BP at security control, sometimes they send tou back and ask you to go through the control at the A/B gates.

Even if you get in it would be a very long hike to the JK lounge (opposite D42), and an even longer trip back to your boarding gate, count 15-20 min each way.

The lounge is ok, but nothing special, I would use the international airport operated lounge that TK sends you to.
