Best *A routing to CAN??
 

I am travellling on an award to Guangzhou in July, departing from BOS (though IAD or DCA would also work). I am currently holding an award ticket BOS-YYZ-PEK-CAN. Is there anything more direct that will work? BOS-YYZ-NRT-CAN is probably out b/c of connection time at NRT.

LH via FRA appears to be the only one-stop option. Other two-stop options include OZ through JFK and ICN, CA though JFK and PEK, or UA via IAD/ORD/SFO and PEK.

Actually many people fly to HKG and take the bus or train to Guangzhou, then your routing would become BOS-ORD-HKG.

BOS-FRA-CAN would be the most direct route, as mahasamatman said, but it will leave you with a very long layover at FRA.

You can also fly thru ICN which is much nicer than PEK for transit but I'm not sure if the connection time works.

If it were me I'd fly to HKG and take the coach/train into GZ. You will probably save time as you only need 1 connection to get from BOS-HKG.

There is a bus service from the airport to different points in Guangzhou, frequent, inexpensive, about 3 hours. http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/index.html and then transport

Fare for train or bus is in the range of 30-40 US$.
