SIN-PEK-YYZ

HI there, I hope someone has an answer on this question.
I am flying from SIN to YYZ with a connection in PEK.
Do I need a visa to transit through PEK?

I only have 3 hours in PEK, arriving on CA and departing on AC.
Will I need to check in for my AC flight in PEK?

Thank you all

If your downtime is less than 24h you are OK to go without visa. My friend did ICN-(CA)-PEK-(AC)-YYZ in C and he had no problem.

Thank you for the info, I couldn't find anything on the Chinese consulate website.
Do you know if you friend had to check in on the AC flight in PEK or ICN? as we are not supposed to leave the airport international zone from my understanding.

PEK has an international transit desk if you need to collect onward boarding passes.

But the transit desk is usually closed, and you must pass through immigration/customs
to check in again. This can be done without a visa, but you do have to fill in a landing card, and then show your onward ticket. Also beware, you probably have to pick up
your luggage off the belt, and re-check it.

Don't worry, 3 hours is more than enough time to do all.

That is what I remember from my visitn to PEK a few months ago, that the Transit desk was closed.
Thank you for the info! :)

In our case we got the onward boarding pass direct in the gangway!

Anyone who know if this is OK if you are on two separate tickets?

Yes it is.

If you're on AC, you should be able to check in online ahead of time and print a boarding pass in Singapore.

At PVG, there is no through check-in of luggage whatsoever, so everyone who is connecting must pick up their luggage and go to the check-in counter with their luggage.

But PEK does allow you to connect luggage so if you ask SQ in SIN to tag through to the AC flight, the luggage should connect without problems.
