*A lounge in BEY?

Title says it all really. Does any *A airline have a lounge at Beirut airport?

Just want to know if I should book a cheap hotel to get around around the flights arriving/departing in the early hours, or if I can go camp out in a lounge.

Thanks

There is no specific lounge just for Star Alliance carriers in BEY.

What airline are you flying? Lufthansa uses MEA's Cedar Lounge which is very nice.

Here are some pictures:

BMI on the other hand uses a lounge operated by the ground handling agent, LAT which isn't anywhere near as nice as MEA's Cedar Lounge.

I can't remember what Alitalia uses but I think they use the Cedar Lounge.

Not sure what EgyptAir uses.

I found the following information from the Star Alliance website regarding airport lounges for Gold frequent flyer members:

Airport Lounge Access - available worldwide for you and a friend when you travel with any Star Alliance member airline, regardless of your class of travel.

In that case, as long as you fly on a Star alliance flight from BEY, you should get lounge access.

If I were you, I'd contact MEA and ask them. They usually respond pretty quickly.

Why would MEA want to help with a Star Alliance query when they are not a member?

True. But some airlines offer fellow *Gold pax a lounge invitation. According to their website LH does so in the Beirut case. www.lufthansa.com-->Information&Service-->Lounges features a good tool which allows you to find out about particualar combinations. Obviously, this offer is only good if you travel on LH, other *A airlines may well have a different policy, as there is no requirement to provide lounge access to thrid party lounges, such as Cedar Club.

Because the question is in regards to an MEA-operated lounge that is used by some Star Alliance carriers.
