RTW Biz Class Availability
 

I'm attempting to book a Star Alliance RTW ticket in business class - I'll be paying for the ticket, not using miles. All the flights have availability in biz class except for two, both on South African Airways (SAO to JNB on Feb 1, and JNB to BOM on Feb 12). The agent checked surrounding days and they were also unavailable. This seems a little strange since I'm booking the ticket more than 6 months in advance and didn't have a problem with any of the other legs on other airlines. The reservation is on hold while I evaluate whether its worth paying $10,000+ for a business class ticket with two of the longest legs in economy. The reservation agent says they may make more seats available but there are no guarantees. Any thoughts on why there's no availability and what my chances are for South African making more seats available? Thanks in advance.

The RTW ticket may be business class but it books into a discounted booking class. On some popular routes/dates this can sell out a very long way ahead (or in some cases not be made available at all). I am not familiar with those 2 specific routes but there certainly are other routes where you need to book on CRWSTARx (the *A RTW in business class) more than 6 months in advance.
