*A Company Plus Points
How do these things work? Are they instead of earning FF miles? Or can the company rack up points at the same time as the employees are racking up miles?
And I'm confused by the fare class schedule: • First and Business Class (F,A,C,D,Z) • Economy Flexible (Y,B,M) • Economy Restricted (H,Q,V) But on Air Canada fare class A is a restricted economy ticket. It's even discounted from the regular restricted economy fare class of L which isn't on the above list anywhere. So, what the hell? If I fly on an economy ticket in fare class A is *AC+ going to credit it as if it was a first class ticket? (800 points?) |
First, generally employees earn FF miles - companies get rebates/discounts (exceptions exist and rebates tend to be for larger customers).
For fare classes, you need to look at the fare you are flying on a particular carrier and how that maps over to your FF program. For *A members, they should have a pretty comprehensive list by carrier of which fares earn miles, whether they get bonus miles (class of service) and how much, partial miles, or no miles at all. So look to your "home" program's website to see this list. |
I had never heard of this program. It seems to be a nice way to double dip if you pay for allot of *A travel on your corp card for the participating airlines.
the FAQ says yes: https://www.partnerplusbenefit.com/application/pages2/common/A006AskQuestionPage.jsp#t006_14 Tracking is done via creditcard or manual entry of tickets after the flight.... The terms and conditions https://www.partnerplusbenefit.com/a...GBShowPage.jsp seem to limit this to companies in the UK and ireland. Cool stuff. I think i'll look into signing up for this myself. |

Never used AC when the credits apply, but the scheme is VERY slow to post transactions and very fussy about point of sale. For example, if you book via united.com and not unitedairlines.co.uk you will get no credit as they see it as buying outside the UK/Ireland. At the moment they have transactions posted up to February 2008.
