Star Circle Pac Rule Changes eff 01 May
Nothing too major :
1) - APPLICATION Paragraph Canada and the USA are no longer considered as one country under the "travel must commence from and return to the same country" rule. 2) - FLIGHT APPLICATION A maximum of 24 segments per itinerary. (Was 28). 3) - SURFACE SECTORS New wording to clarify a ground segment - "intermediate surface sectors permitted at passengers own expense. If such a break in journey exceeds 24 hours, it is considered as one stopover". Everyone knew that already, but something must have happened somewhere for it to be clarified !! 4) - SQ SURCHARGES No longer payable in CAD. All SQ surcharges are now USD only. That's it. |

Hmmm. Interesting. Different countries, different rules possibly? Just checked the last hard copy of mine, and it's definitely showing as 28 whereas this one is now 24.
Thought for a moment I had the Circle Asia and the Circle Pac mixed up, but not so. Maybe we're just slow over here (as you lot like to remind us! :) ) and still catching up. |
I printed out a copy of the rules for the CtP fare about 2 months ago (from the ANZ site) and it definitely stated 28 segments. I also remember the UA agent mentioning a max of 28 segemtns, so the 28 to 24 segment reduction is definitely new for '07.

Where's the best place to get a copy of the CTP fare rules?

http://www.airnewzealand.co.nz/agent...es/default.htm It looks like ANZ has both the old (pre May 1st) and new rules on this page, so make sure that you open the correct one. |

I'll add this: where is the best place to buy a Cirlcle Pacific fare?
Now, I'm sure there are some differences when it comes to the service/ability of the airlines call center as well. Personally, I chose to book mine through my main airline, UA, for convenience (I do not have to deal with the ICC!), even though I probably could have saved a few bucks with more searching. |
