MP question in regards to A* flight
 

Wow, this might be a record for me - starting two threads in one day! :)

Anyways, I need to go to Santiago, Chile in April. I called MP about getting a award ticket since I knew Air Canada flew down there via YYZ. There is no availibility within the dates I need for the YYZ-SCL portion. Tonight, I just noticed that Swiss Air flies to SCL as well via Zurich. So my question is - if I tried an awards ticket on this airline - would I have to use 50k to get to Europe, then another 70k to get to South America or do I just use the 50k for North America to South America? Is there another airline that I should consider?

Regrettably *A options to South America are very slim. If you go on LX via ZRH you will need to get 2 awards (US-Europe and Europe-South America).

Moving this to the *A forum where you have more options for an answer. Thanks for your understanding.

Perhaps you could try flying somewhere else in South America on *A and get a separate ticket to get to SCL. Eg EZE, GRU.

kluau88 - I feared that was the truth. Dang it! I didn't want to waste all my miles for a business trip.
