Star Alliance route map?

I know this probably seems like a really dumb question, but is there an interactive world route map or tool for *Alliance that covers all the routes serviced by its partners? I have searched for one online, but have had little success.

For eg. I am trying to find all *Alliance airlines that service NBO and I dont care if the originating flights are from Europe, Africa, Asia or US etc. and I also dont care about dates.

Here is what I have found so far:
- There is a tool on the star alliance website, but you have to input specific dates as well as originating city.
- Using the above example, I found out that Swiss goes from ZRH to NBO. Swiss's website has a cool interactive map that lets you click on destinations and shows all the flights to/from that desination. However, this does not work for non-Swiss flights.
- Air canada seems to have a interactive map as well that apparently shows all the Star Alliance carriers, but Africa seems to be missing completely from its database.

Any tips/suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Looks like there is an Excel file in the Useful links thread that I could probably use. Sorry, I should have checked that thread carefully before posting this. I will take a look at that.

(Still if there is an interactive version of that, it'd be awsome). :)

I don't know if this is of any help to you, but I tried to put together a list of links to all routemaps a while ago. No one wanted to help though.

Look on the last 2 pages...

Yep, agreed. The excel sheet is very useful.

It'd be cool for someone to take the information from the excel sheet, port it in some kind of a database and then write an app that can display the information interactively/graphically. I could probably write an app like this (given some time) but, I would also need additional information like each city's latitude/longitude (I am sure that's available somewhere) and data that can help me draw a world map using vector graphics -- this would be better that using an image since scaling an image up would produce a lot of jaggies.

The *A Electronic Timetable has a feature that would fit your needs, however it ain't no map:

Download the *A Electronic Timetable and select "City/Airport Timetable". Just choose NBO as point of departure and "All Airports" for destination - all flights out of NBO will be shown.

The electronic timetables are useful, but have some limitations in that some seasonal routes will not be included and need care in searching for routes with less than daily service.

As the spreadsheet has been built up over time, a lot of the seasonal routes are included (probably not all but should be most).

I can easily put the spreadsheet info into Access, and with a bit of time could add the lat/lon info - if anyone wants to run with this idea.

I agree, just download the *A electronic timetable from the *A webpage, it should easily tell you what airlines you can fly to NBO.

You can also download the *A screensaver, it actually offers the *A route map as screensaver. :D

If you look on Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBO

The only *A airline listed is LX from ZRH.

Tells a lot about the accuracy of Wikipedia: SA serves NBO from JNB, plus LX flight from ZRH continues on to DAR.

SAA is listed as well (and was at the time of your post!)
