Award if recommending someone to FF program?
 

I'm currently with UA MP, I live in Toronto and have only flown UA once, I generally make trips to Europe, and am currently booked on AC and LH for a couple of flights. My girlfriend is not a member of any program and she will be travelling with me later this year.

Is there any mileage bonus for recommending someone to UA's program? If not, I am considering switching to Aeroplan or another *A program because I am not able to make much use of my Premier status on UA. What would be the best program for my girlfriend and I in this case? Can my miles and status be transferred to Aeroplan?

I currently have 28,000 miles with UA, in the short term I expect to fly enough miles to continue to qualify for the lowest elite level. Mainly on a couple of flights annually to Europe or Asia.

The most recent one I've seen is something like 500 miles for you and 2000 miles for the other person. Not very useful.

Don't forget the recent program change - you cannot fly E+ on UA as a non-UA *A elite.

Miles, definitely not. Status - you may be able to get a status match, but *A carriers don't generally match other *A carriers.
