Multi city, multi carrier *A bookings
Any recommendations? LH used to be good, but now it’s LH only. AUA doesn’t have (or I can’t find) multi-city, SWISS is LX/LH only, SK online is crap, UAL shows cosmic fares intra-EU, etc. My credit cards are issued in Latvia, that’s another drawback because otherwise I could use Expedia, Travelocity and like. Travel agents are fine but lately they are so busy that it takes a week to process them something a bit out of ordinary.

https://www.aua.com/at/eng/Flights/AirManager/Register/ you have three choices: log in (if you are a registered user); register (if you are not); or guest login, if you want to test the system. I am not registered there, so I choose 'guest'. The next screen again offers three choices: Regular Flights, Multi Availability or book by price. If you choose 'Multi Availability', you get a blank form with six sectors. The default departure point is Vienna, but you can press 'reset' and change it. At the bottom of the form, you can choose whether your travel should be on Austrian Airlines group companies, on Star Alliance companies or on any airlines. I have never actually booked through this engine, but I just tried a 'test drive' with six sectors on Star Alliance, departing from ARN and returning to CPH. It offered numerous possibilities, I selected the ones I wanted and it both planned the itinerary and calculated what the fare would be. cheers, Henry |

A couple of years ago kolumbs.lv had a nice booking engine where you could easily pull together multi-segment trips yourself, and then just pick up the ticket and pay (unfortunately, not the case any more, but they at least have helful staff). Depending on how complicated your itins are, lidot.lv might still work for you - it at least allows open-jaws. BUT - the best solution would be to get a card that is accepted on those international websites. |

Expedia.com definitely does not accept international bookings, see http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll...faq.htx#intlcc Do you know if expedia.co.uk or expedia.de accepts credit cards issued outside UK? Same question would apply to any other major online travel site. |
This flight cannot be booked online. To make a booking, please contact the representative of Austrian Airlines closest to you. Please note the fare described is only binding for the time of the request. |
expedia.co.uk says that they do accept non-UK credit cards for e-tickets. Good luck.
From the FAQ: Credit cards registered abroad Updated: 04/10/05 Internationally based credit cards may now be used to make the following: * hotel reservations * hire car reservations * E-ticket air reservations When entering your international billing address be sure to click "Non United Kingdom billing address" to enable the international billing address format. You will not be able to book flights which require paper tickets with your non United Kingdom credit card. |
orbitz.com accepts foreign credit cards from a select group of countries (but not Latvia, unfortunately):
