Time for Air India to join?
Some good news for those hoping that air india might one day realize the importance of joining an alliance, although I hope that Jet joins *. One Indian carrier needs to join and I think the rest will follow.

When we were working in the Gulf, we often went to India for r&r and usually took Air India because it was cheap and direct. Unfortunately, it is also far and away the absolute worst of the 25-30 carriers I have flown in my life -- worse than Aeroflot, worse even than Turk Hava Yollari. Dreadful. cheers, Henry |
Air India, no thanks! I would say if any India carrier, then surely Jet Airways! After kicking in China, it's about time to get a decent carrier in India for *A :)

I did say that Jet was preferred, but there's no harm in Air India coming on board. At least their website can be used to book some tickets incl e-tickets unlike Air China (when I last checked). For those who hate AI don't take it, but let those who don't mind taking it do so and earn UA EQM's. Indian airlines has shaped up a lot after the induction of pvt domestic carriers and I'm sure AI will also once Jet really gets more wings and other pvt airlines like Kingfisher come into the scene. Maybe by then the stupid airline will get privatised. I also personally HATE the airline and won't fly it unless there's a diff of 400-500. Flew 'em once and never again.

Ok, so Jet Airways (9W) also partners with BA, QF, KL and NW, but with the recently announced partnersips with TG and OS to add to LH, it brings up the number of *A partners to 3. Please, please let 9W join *A.....
