*A RTW: dates changed to 'open' ?

About ten days ago we started our latest CRWSTAR1 and we are presently at our second stopping point, having completed 5 of 19 scheduled flights. I know that there is no charge for date changes. Can we cancel all of our remaining bookings and simply leave the dates open, to be re-booked later in the year? We don't want to cancel the trip completely but we need to postpone it for a while because the wife's mother has just gone into hospital. I realise that even if we can change the bookings to 'open' now, when the time comes to re-book the exact combination of connections that we have established might no longer be possible and then we'd have to make a routing change, which does have a fee. But that would be later, rather than sooner.

I am going to ring SAS on Monday to inquire about this, but first I just thought I'd seek informed advice from the knowledge base here in this forum.

cheers,

Henry

Henry, you'll be fine to cancel and rebook - provided you have had your first International/Intercontinental trip already.
However, as the date changes are free, to keep your booking "live" I'd probably suggest changing them all to a later date and changing them again at a time when you have an idea of dates you want when ready to resume. This will keep the original booking with all it's information and accessible in the future.

if you started in europe, you should pay great attention to this rule:

For travel originating in Europe: reservations and ticket issuance must be made at any time prior to departure for sectors up to and including the first intercontinental sector. Other sectors may be booked at any time.

Thanks. That's rule 5 (C). We've already started the trip, so I think we're more in the area of 16 (A) 2 a) and b).

cheers,

Henry

I left the last 8 segments on my CRTWSTAR3 open and used them whenever I wanted to fly. Just walked up to the desk and got a seat.
