Weird OS availability?

Hi,
When an airline has a transit point on a flight, (eg OS 7 VIE-SIN-MEL), I know sometimes you may not have a availability on the whole leg, but on parts you will. Can anyone explain why for particular date OS 7 VIE-MEL is showing wide open, with YBMHQX & G classes available, while for the same date OS 7 VIE-SIN, everything in economy is zeroed out?

thanks
goodo

I would say because OS is happy to sell the short haul traffic for SIN-MEL v.v (or perhaps they don't have traffic rights SIN-VIE?) - perhaps this is a nod to partner SQ to now allow availability, or they simply don't wish to sell SIN-VIE sectors. During the slower months OS often offers cheapies on these tag flights (eg: MEL-SIN, SYD-KUL).
