US, Lounge Access and Canada
I am flying to YVR in a couple of weeks on US & AC. I am a *G on US and trying to find out where, if anywhere, I will have lounge access besides YVR on the return. I have done a search on in the forums and the best I found was here but the general consensus was unclear.
I found the following on the * Alliance website which states United Airlines' Premier Executive and Premier Executive 1K customers and US Airways' Chairman Preferred and Gold Preferred customers have access to U.S. domestic United Red Carpet Club and US Airways Club locations only when they present a ticket or boarding pass for a same-day international flight. but on the US website I find the following information that both conflicts and confirms what is on the Star Alliance site scattered all over their site I find that on one page page where they describe the US Air club and the varying levels of access the following note. Chairman and Gold Preferred members will receive access to Star Alliance Lounges and the US Airways Club when traveling internationally as part of their Star Gold benefits. United - Star Gold Member access to domestic Red Carpet Clubs is restricted to those traveling on a trans-oceanic flight Worldwide Lounge Access - Gold Preferred members receive access to over 500 Star Gold lounges when traveling on a Star Alliance flight. Members may bring one guest. Excludes access when traveling solely within North America and to or from the Caribbean. |
As a Star Gold member you will have access to Air Canada's Maple Leaf Lounges as long as you have a boarding pass for a sameday Air Canada or Star Alliance departing flight.
There are three MLLs at YVR: one in the domestic pier, one near the international gates and one near the Transborder (i.e. US) gates. They have snacks, open bar, internet access and high speed wireless service. You won't be able to lounge hop at YVR, since each of the three areas, (domestic, international and transborder) are segregated from one and other. Thanks for your help. Worst case in PHL & SEA I can get into the RCC with PriorityPass but it would be nice actually be able to use the *G lounge access instead.
