US *G on AC
 

I'm a US Airways *G traveling from Dulles to YUL on an Air Canada ticket on AC metal. I've tried a search and a few web sites and it appears that I would have access to the *G lounges in both locations. IAD=RCC and YUL= MLL. Is this correct? Though I cannot find the reference, I thought I had read, or heard, somewhere that US *Gs don't get lounge access when traveling on North American itineraries. Is this only if traveling on US or UA? Thanks for your input.

Unfortunately you will not have access without buying a day pass. US has negotiated the same opt-out as UA on this issue, in which Canada is considered to be domestic. If you were heading off to the Carribean then it would be a different story, and you would have access.

I think it's terrible but it is a result of the pay-for-access system operated by US airline clubs. In most other places the only way to get access if to have status or a revenue F/C ticket, hence the ability of me, as LH *Gold, to access the RCC and MLL on an itinerary such as yours.

You and a guest will be welcome to use the Maple Leaf Lounge in Montreal on the return portion of your trip. Enjoy!

The RCC changed the rules early last year such that Canada IS considered an international destination for lounge access purposes.

Otherwise US *G get access to the RCC under the sames rules as for UA's own *G.

According to the US website the Caribbean is excluded as well. The only US flights that would cause you to qualify are the 11 European destinations, or a code-share that leaves the North American continent.

If I were traveling on US I would agree that the rules read as you have laid them out. But does this only apply when traveling on US? Since I am traveling on AC is the Canada/Carribean restriction still in force? The websites don't seem to address this very clearly.
